# Profile templates

> Save your whole profile look, switch between looks, and share or apply templates from the marketplace.

</Note>

A **template** is a saved snapshot of your whole profile look. Save the look you have now, switch to a different one later, and browse looks other people have shared. Saving a look and sharing a template are the same thing — there's no separate "presets" feature.

## What's in a template

When you save a template it captures your current profile, including:

* Theme, accent colour, card layout, and text effects
* Fonts
* Avatar, page background, splash screen, and background music
* Custom cursor
* Social links and wallet addresses
* Widgets and everything in your customization

It does **not** copy account or identity things: your username, Premium status, linked Discord/email, view counts, earned badges, or verification. Those always stay tied to your own account.

## Save a look

1. Set your profile up the way you want it (and **save your profile first** so the template captures the latest version).
2. Open the [Templates panel](https://dashboard.biolovers.site/dashboard/edit/templates) and click **Create template**.
3. Give it a name, add a few tags, optionally upload a preview image, and pick a visibility.
4. Click **Save template**.

<Note>
  **How many you can save:** Free accounts can save **1** template. Premium accounts can save **3**. To save a new one once you're at the limit, delete an existing template to free a slot.
</Note>

### Preview image

The preview is the picture shown on your template's card in the marketplace. Upload a JPEG, PNG, WebP, or GIF (up to 10 MB). If you skip it, the card just shows your template's name.

### Visibility

* **Public** — listed in the marketplace so anyone can find and apply it.
* **Unlisted** — kept private; only you can use it. Good for personal saved looks you switch between.

## The marketplace

The Templates page is also a browse view of shared looks. Use the tabs at the top:

* **Public** — all public templates from the community.
* **Favorite** — templates you've starred.
* **Last Used** — templates you've applied, most recent first.
* **Owned** — the templates you've saved.

To find something:

* **Search** by name or tag.
* **Filter** with the tag chips — tap any tags to narrow the grid.
* **Sort** by Newest, Most used, or Oldest.

Each card shows the preview, name, the author's handle, how many times it's been used, its tags, and a **Free / Premium** pill (see below).

## Use a template

1. Find a template and click **Use Template**.
2. Confirm — applying a template **replaces your current profile look** (theme, media, links, and wallets). It does not touch your username, Premium status, or account settings.
3. Your profile updates right away. You can keep editing it normally afterward — applying a template is just a starting point.

<Warning>
  Using a template overwrites your current look. If you want to keep your current setup, **save it as a template first**, then apply the new one — you can switch back anytime from the **Owned** or **Last Used** tab.
</Warning>

### Free vs Premium templates

The **Free / Premium** pill tells you whether a template relies on any Premium-only features (custom fonts, a custom domain, watermark removed, comments, multiple songs, and similar).

You can apply **any** template even on a free account — the Premium-only parts are simply skipped, and everything else still applies. Upgrade later and re-apply to get the full look.

## Edit, delete, favorite, report

Use the **star** on a card to favorite a template (it shows up under the Favorite tab). The **three-dot menu** has the rest:

* **Edit** (your own templates) — change the name, tags, preview image, or visibility. You can also tick **Update saved look to match my current profile** to re-capture your profile into that template.
* **Delete** (your own templates) — removes it and frees a slot.
* **Report** (other people's templates) — flag a template for our team to review. Tell us what's wrong with it.

## Your media stays safe

If a template you've shared uses your avatar, background, cursor, or other uploads, that media is **protected**. When you later change or remove one of those files, we keep the original around instead of overwriting it, so your shared template keeps showing the look it was saved with — it won't break for people who use it.

## Common questions

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="Does applying a template change my username or Premium?">
    No. Templates only change the **look** of your profile. Your username, Premium status, linked accounts, earned badges, and view counts are never copied or changed.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Can free accounts use Premium templates?">
    Yes. You can apply any template — the Premium-only parts are skipped on a free account and the rest applies. Upgrade and re-apply to unlock the full look.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="How do I switch back to my old look?">
    Save your current look as a template before applying a new one. You can then re-apply it anytime from the **Owned** tab. The **Last Used** tab also lists templates you've applied recently.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Why can't I save another template?">
    You've hit your limit — **1** on Free, **3** on Premium. Delete one to free a slot, or upgrade to Premium for more.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="What does the “N uses” number mean?">
    It's how many times other people have applied that template. Re-applying your own template doesn't add to the count.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Someone copied my look — what can I do?">
    Templates are made to be shared and remixed. If a template breaks our rules, use the **Report** option in its three-dot menu and our team will review it.
