# Buying custom badges

> Buy custom-badge slots, then upload your own designs. $4.99 per slot with a +5%-per-extra volume discount, capped at 20%. Or buy six for the price of five.

## Pricing

The **unit price** is `CUSTOM_BADGE_UNIT_USD = $4.99` per slot. There's a **volume discount** that grows with quantity:

| ≥ 5      | 20% (capped) | `5 × $4.99 × 0.80 …` | \$3.99   |

The discount is `+5% per extra slot after the first, capped at 20%` (`customBadgeVolumeDiscountPercent`).

## Bundles

Two ways to buy:

| Bundle       | What you pay                              | What you get                                                      |
| ------------ | ----------------------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Standard** | Quantity × unit, with the volume discount | The same number of slots you bought.                              |
| **5-for-6**  | The discounted price for 5 (\$19.96)      | **6 slots.** A free extra slot on top of the 20% volume discount. |

The **5-for-6** bundle is the best per-slot price.

## How to buy

1. Pick the **bundle** (and quantity if standard).
2. Tap **Purchase**.
3. Pick **Card** or **Crypto** in the modal.
4. Accept Terms + Refund policy.
5. Pay.

Slots appear on your account the moment payment confirms — go to the [Badges panel](/badges/custom-badges) to upload designs.

## Common questions

    Buy them one after the other — slots stack on your account. There's no limit on total slots.

  <Accordion title="What if I delete a custom badge later?">
    Slots are returned to your pool. You can upload a new design without buying again.

  <Accordion title="Can I refund unused slots?">
    Yes — unused slots are refundable, *case-by-case*, while still unused. Once a slot has been spent on a badge (or one is being created), that slot is considered delivered. See [Refunds](/premium/refunds).
