# Click sounds

> Play a short sound whenever a visitor clicks anywhere on your page. Pick a preset or upload your own. Premium feature.

<Note>
  Page on the dashboard: <a href="https://dashboard.biolovers.site/dashboard/edit/media/cursor" target="_blank" rel="noopener">dashboard.biolovers.site/dashboard/edit/media/cursor</a> — it sits with the [Custom cursor](/media/custom-cursor) controls.
</Note>

<Tip>
  Click sounds are **Premium-only**. Free accounts see the control locked with an upsell line. A non-premium page never plays a click sound, even if one was set earlier — see [What Premium unlocks](/premium/what-premium-unlocks).
</Tip>

A short sound plays whenever a visitor clicks **anywhere on your public page**. It only affects your profile page — nothing in the dashboard.

## Turn it on

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the Cursor panel">
    Go to [Media → Cursor](https://dashboard.biolovers.site/dashboard/edit/media/cursor). The **Click sound** block is below the cursor controls.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enable the click sound">
    Tick the **Click sound** checkbox to switch it on.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Pick a sound">
    Choose a preset from the dropdown, or pick **Upload your own…** and select a file.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Set the volume and preview">
    Drag the **volume** slider, then tap **Preview** to hear it at that level before you save.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Pick a preset or upload your own

There are two sources:

* **Presets** — a dropdown of sounds we provide. Pick one and you're done.
* **Upload your own** — choose **Upload your own…** in the dropdown to upload a sound file instead. Your upload is **private to your profile** — it isn't shared with other users or added to the preset list.

If there are no presets available yet, the dropdown says so and you can upload your own.

| Length | Keep it **short** — a click sound is a quick blip, not a track |

## Volume and preview

* **Volume** is a slider from 0–100. It applies to whichever sound is selected, preset or upload.
* **Preview** plays the currently selected sound in the dashboard at the chosen volume, so you can tune it before saving.

## Common questions

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="Why is the click sound control greyed out?">
    You're on the free tier. The whole feature is Premium-only. See [What Premium unlocks](/premium/what-premium-unlocks).
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Does the sound play on every click?">
    Yes — clicks anywhere on your public page trigger it. Rapid clicks can overlap, so pick a short, quiet sound to avoid it getting annoying.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="My file won't upload">
    Check it's one of MP3 / OGG / WAV / M4A / MP4 / MOV and under **2 MiB**. Long songs will be too big — trim it to a short clip first.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="The sound doesn't play until I click once">
    Browsers block audio until the visitor interacts with the page. The first click "unlocks" audio, so the sound starts from the next click onward. This is a browser rule, not a setting.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Is my uploaded sound public?">
    The file plays on your public page, but it isn't added to the shared preset list or exposed to other users to pick.
  </Accordion>
